The building that is standing in for 666 Park Avenue is the Upper West Side's Ansonia building at 2109 Broadway between West 73rd and West 74th Street. The gorgeous Beaux-Arts-style structure has made previous appearances on the big screen in Single White Female and Hannah and Her Sisters. But its reality is perhaps more interesting: In the 1970s, it was the home of the Continental Baths bathhouse, where Bette Midler got her start with Barry Manilow as her accompanist. The Continental Baths then became legendary swingers' club Plato's Retreat. Long ago, it was the home of legendary Yankee Babe Ruth who was known to walk down to the barber shop on the first floor wearing nothing but his bathrobe.

Q
Was it cancelled? How does it end?
A
Yes, the series was officially cancelled by ABC on Nov. 16th, 2012, after 7 episodes due to weak ratings. Shortly before cancellation, ABC ordered two additional scripts to bring the episode count to 15, they were dismissed upon cancellation. The producers later stated the show "is building to a powerful and surprising series finale, where all your questions will be answered. We hope fans of the show continue watching all the way to the end of Jane and Henry's incredible journey to the dark side." Q
Is the show based on a book?
A
Yes...and no. Alloy Entertainment published a book of the same title, and its author, Gabriella Pierce, is listed during the show's opening credits. However, during the process of developing the book series for television, so many changes were made that the finished products are virtually unrelated. With just a few superficial similarities, the two "666 Park Avenue"'s tell very different stories about mostly-different characters.
