The characters in the film use the word "duge" as a substitute to "dude" which is an accurate portrayal of the group of friends and time period (1990's) from which the film is partially drawn. The term "duge" is derived from the mishearing of a line delivered by the character "Skank" from the 80's film The Wraith. It caught on and became a trope around the South Bay in various, small circles.
