Trivia
After two years of trying to get an interview with Charlton Heston, Michael Moore was going to give up. Showing up at Heston's house was totally spontaneous--on the way to the airport, a staff member suggested that they buy a "Map to the Stars' Homes" to find the house.

After Charlton Heston abruptly ended the interview, Michael Moore and his film crew walked down Heston's driveway to find themselves temporarily trapped as the gate closed. Fearing that Heston may have called someone to try and confiscate the interview footage, Moore had his cameraman pass the film through the bars of the gate to staffers waiting outside. Moore then told the staffers to depart immediately with the film. Moore and his crew eventually left Heston's estate without incident.

This was the highest-grossing documentary until 2004 when Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004)--also directed by Michael Moore--made more in its opening weekend than this movie did in its entire run.

Goofs
As Charlton Heston walks away from Michael Moore in the final interview, the scene cuts repeatedly between Heston (point of view from behind Moore) and Moore (point of view from the stairs directly in front of Moore) holding a photo of the slain Flint, Michigan girl and asking Heston to look at it. When the POV is of Moore holding the photo, there is clearly no cameraman anywhere behind him. The same with the POV of Heston, there is clearly no cameraman anywhere in front of Moore. So the two POVs were not filmed simultaneously as the film implies.

The film claims that that Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold attended a bowling class on the morning of the massacre. This is incorrect as testified in a judicial review.

A clip of a Godzilla-type monster roaring is shown while showing gun-related death rates for Japan. The clip, however, is from Gorgo, which was a UK production.

Quotes
Michael Moore: One thing was clear. It still sucked being a teenager. And it really sucked going to school.

George W. Bush: [Archive press conference] Today the Justice Department did issue a 'Blanket Alert'. It was in recognition of a general threat that we received. This is not the first time the Justice Department has acted like this. I hope it's the last, but given the attitude of the evil-doers, it may not be.

Michael Moore: [narrating] This is Matt Stone. He grew up in Littleton and has fond memories of Columbine.
