Trivia
Because of prior scheduling conflicts, Marc Macaulay and Pruitt Taylor Vince could not work on the same day, so the filmmakers decided to shoot their performances of the only scene their characters had together separately on different days. First, Pruitt filmed his performance using a stand in to act opposite of, and two days later Marc filmed his performance, again using a stand in. Through editing, the two performances were pieced together seamlessly. This resulted in a powerful scene between the two actors.

For Stanley's only scene of dialog, Derek Wayne Johnson chose not to prepare the character's speech pattern and did not rehearse, feeling any sort of preparation for the mentally challenged character would feel forced. Instead, Johnson thought to himself what Boo Radley from To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) might have sounded like had he spoken in that film. The end result is Johnson's improvised interpretation.

Quotes
Stone: All my life I've been taught that there are three things a man should live by; family, loyalty, and truth. So I've always wondered why my twin brother Stanley is the way he is and... why I'm normal. Why I turned out to be okay and... Stanley turned out to be a killer.
