In a bold and, at the time, controversial move, the producers cast black actor Earle Hyman in the titular role of Shakespeare's Hamlet.

Because the series Warner Brothers Presents (1955) had gone off the air, the syndicated short film "The Deadly Riddle," a sanitized adaptation of Chaucer's "The Wife of Bath's Tale" aired as an episode of this program when it was rebroadcast in the early 1960s.
