Leading lady Jayachitra later claimed that this film broke a record as being the first black-and-white film that ran for more than 100 days at a theatre called Devi-Sridevi Complex in Madras, Tamil Nadu.
Heroine Jayachitra did two of Jaya Bhaduri's Hindi films: this film being the Tamil remake of Guddi (1971), and later the Telugu remake of Anamika (1973) titled Kalpana (1977), where she played the title role, and which also became a memorable film.
