Originally produced in 1965, CBS aired 11 of the 13 episodes in the summer of 1967.

Coronet Blue connects to The Nurses. In the pilot, the character Frank Converse plays is taken to the fictional Alden Hospital, which is where The Nurses took place. He takes the hospital's name as his own last name.

Because the show was a moderate success, CBS decided to bring it back and have new episodes filmed. However, Frank Converse had already committed to do N.Y.P.D. (1967) for ABC. Ironically, the finale of this show aired the day before the debut of N.Y.P.D.
