Did you know?
According to the scripts (before the final draft) the film starts out in 1998 and goes over to 2042 as John Spartan and Simon Phoenix were frozen for 44 years. In that draft a CryoCon was named Ignatious and was changed to Howie, while Howie was written out and replaced with a thug already released in according to what was cut out of the movie. Beppo was Albert. Kodo was Beppo. Adam (played by Jesse Ventura) was Charlie and Jesse Ventura's character dies in the underground battle assumed to be killed by armed scraps - or Denis Leary's character that was, in that draft, Thomas Payne - when John Spartan went after Simon Phoenix. It is then that Elvin, who was the CryoCon that kicked the chair out of the way when Cocteau was killed, that kills Cocteau in that draft rather than the CryoCon played by Jesse "The Body" Ventura. Then, according to what was cut out or not filmed, John Spartan either kills or incapacitates Elvin.

Wesley Snipes's kicks and punches sometimes look lurchy and awkward. Snipes is a black belt in real life, and his kicks and punches were so fast that they blurred on camera. Hence the producers asked him to slow them down.

If the "ray gun" that Phoenix finds in the Museum was to work according to "mil-spec", it would have 700 shots before needing to recharge. The "spec sheet" reads: 700 rounds, 800 yard range.

In the beginning when Simon finishes using the dagger to puncture the gasoline barrels, he lays it back on the table and it is dry. You can see the gasoline spraying all over as he jabs each plastic barrel. He would also have the gasoline on his hands when lighting the cigarette.

When Dr. Cocteau is killed and thrown into the fire, there isn't enough time for his body to have been reduced to ashes by the time Spartan and Huxley see the remains of his clothes. A common fire place such as that, would only have caused major charring of the skin, leaving a body for them to find.

Why did Dr. Cocteau put knowledge of fighting, terrorisim and mayhem into Simon Phoenix's rehabiliation program?
Dr. Cocteau put all this knowledge into Simon Phoenix's rehabilitation program, so Phoenix can act as his assassin, so he can eliminate Edgar Friendly and prevent the revolutionary from leading the Wasteland Scraps into revolt against him and the so called "perfect society" Dr. Cocteau has created.
Why did John Spartan get thawed out to capture Simon Phoenix?
During the 36 years John Spartan was frozen. There had not been a murder in 16 years and due to the new society of "peace, loving and understanding" Dr. Raymond Cocteau created, the San Angeles Police Department, had no training in dealing with criminals. Lieutenant Huxley and Zachary Lamb believed, John Spartan was their best chance at catching Simon Phoenix and Chief George Earl reluctantly agreed to have John Spartan revived from suspended animation to capture his nemesis, with limited parole and reinstated to active duty, believing if Spartan was no better than Phoenix, due to his methods of law enforcement and Chief Earl gave Spartan only one chance or he'd be put back in suspended animation to carry out the rest of his 70 year sentence.
Why couldn't Phoenix kills Dr. Cocteau?
When Dr. Cocteau put the knowledge into Simon Phoenix's rehabilitation program, so Phoenix could kill Edgar Friendly. Dr. Cocteau also put in the rehabilitation program, mental conditioning, where Phoenix could not kill him. But unfortunately, the other Cryo-cons that were revived, were not given rehabilitation programs and were not conditioned to not kill Dr. Cocteau as well (A mistake on Dr. Cocteau's part). So, Simon used one of the Cryo-Cons (Jesse Ventura) to kill Dr. Cocteau, because his conditioning from his rehabilitation program wouldn't allow him to carry out Dr. Cocteau's murder.
