To help animators understand authentic Chinese martial arts' flavor and diversity, the director and animators flew from Hong Kong to Beijing and then traveled 7 hours by train to an obscure town in Shandong. There, reigning all-China wushu champions of the different martial arts styles had come together from all parts of the country, on this rare occasion, to this one place for training.
