With this film, actress Mia Nygren became the first actress after Sylvia Kristel to play the Emmanuelle character in the official 'Emmanuelle' series. Emmanuelle would not be played by Kristel for the next to films. She was played by Monique Gabrielle in Emmanuelle 5 (1987) and Natalie Uher in Emmanuelle 6 (1988). Kristel reprises the role in Emmanuelle VI (1993).
