Goofs
When Jericho jumps on one of the Knights in Christine's bedroom, he knocks a panel out of the open door next to her bed. In the next scene where he is talking with her about her past, the panel has been replaced and the door is shut, but is open again in the next shot.

Q
What is 'End of Days' about?
A
It is written in the Bible that, every 1,000 years, Satan will be released to the world. Legend says that he will possess a man's body in order to impregnate a chosen woman. If he succeeds, he will have free rein over the world. It's three days before the millenium, and Satan (Gabriel Byrne) has taken the body of a nameless banker. Twenty years ago, baby Christine York, now 20 years old (Robin Tunney), was chosen for him. Knowing about the 'end of days' prophecy, the Vatican is searching for Christine in order to keep her from harm. Unfortunately, a few Vatican Knights want to kill her instead. Meanwhile, retired cop Jericho Cane (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is also searching for Christine because her name came up in a seemingly unrelated case. As midnight at the turn of the century approaches, all these factions are about to come together.
Q
How does the movie end?
A
After being burned and run over by the subway train, Satan leaves the body of the banker and goes in search of a new one. With only nine minutes left until midnight, Jericho and Christine barricade themselves in another church. Jericho orders Christine to hide while he keeps watch. Finally admitting his faith, Jericho tosses away his gun and prays to God for help and strength. Suddenly, the church begins to self-destruct. Satan appears in demonic form and leaps inside of Jericho. With three minutes left until midnight, Jericho/Satan attempts to rape Christine. She begs Jericho to fight and, for a few seconds, Jericho takes control long enough to tell Christine to run. Jericho then leaps forward and impales himself on the sword of a fallen statue of Saint Michael the Archangel. At the stroke of midnight, the ball in Times Square falls, and it is all over for Satan. God sends him back to the firey pits of hell and grants Jericho a vision of his wife and daughter waiting for him. Jericho dies. Christine kneels beside Jericho and takes his hand. In the final scene, New Yorkers celebrate the start of the new millennium.
Q
Why was Christine York chosen to bear Satan's child?
A
Simply because, as Father Kovak (Rod Steiger) explains it, her stars were in the right alignment at the time of her birth. The banker whose body Satan is using was chosen for the same reason.
