When they plan to leave, they say that taking "Highway 80" is the fastest route. There is no highway 80 heading west from Ohio to Texas. There only Interstate 80, which is not even close to going through Texas. So, when they arrive in Iowa and argue about taking the longer route they actually went the way they discussed when they agreed to go, by driving Interstate 80.

In the opening sequence when we see the words come across the screen it states "the year is 1998". On the bottom it says "sent from my iPhone". The film is told as a story, so the crawl would have been written later.

Will there ever be a Director's Cut/Unrated version DVD?

This has been the question of many people, who want to see the movie Kyle Newman made without the reshoots from Steven Brill. Kyle Newman has stated that he's planning on releasing a director's cut by the time the sequel comes out.

Why do they call him "Windows"?

A

It could be something as simple as that it's his real name. However, more likely It's a reference to the movie The Thing (1982). There is a character with the same name in that film who constantly wears sunglasses, inside or out, day or night. The character gets the nickname in this film because he wears large thick glasses. (also possibly because he's always on his laptop, his nickname refers to the operating system).

Why was Zoe smoking a cigar in one scene? It seemed out of place.

The scene was strictly spoofing The A-Team TV series where the team leader Hannibal would always have a cigar in his mouth. They also drove around in a van not dissimilar to the one the Fanboys drive around in.
