In the battle between Tifa and Loz, when Loz's cellphone rings, his ring tone is the music that is played after a victorious battle in the Final Fantasy games. Coincidentally, the music played during the battle is the Final Fantasy VII (1997) battle music reprized.

Kadaj's weapon is named the "Souba". Loz's weapon is named the "Dual Hound". Yazoo's weapon is named the "Velvet Nightmare". Cloud's sword is named the "First Tsurugi". His original "Buster Sword", given to him by Zack, is used to commemorate the spot Zack was killed. Cloud's bike is named "Fenrir".

Goofs

During the bike chase sequence, Kadaj bursts through a barrier reading: "WARNING: Authorized Parsonal Only." "Personnel" is the correct spelling. This error only appears in the original version, and is corrected in Advent Children Complete.

When Kadaj summons Bahamut he uses a Green Materia when he should have used a Red Materia (in the game red materia calls forth summons, green materia is for magic).

After everybody has gathered to fight Bahumut Sin, they are all on or near the ground. This is followed by a short scene lasting no more than a minute. Cloud then proceeds to jump up the tower, aided along the way by his companions, all of whom were stood around him on the ground only seconds previously.

Faq

A few FF7 characters are voiced in the Kingdom Hearts games, are they played by the same people in this?

Most of them are; Steve Burton and Christy Carlson Romano both play Cloud and Yuffie. Cid is not given a voice in KH1 but Chris Edgerley voices him in KH2. Also, Mandy Moore does not play Aerith in this, instead it's Mena Suvari who has the role in KH2. Lance Bass doesn't voice Sephiroth like he did in KH1, but rather it's George Newbern (a.k.a. Nooj in X-2), whom also voices him in KH2. Rachel Leigh Cook plays Tifa in this and KH2.

Is this an adaptation of the game?

No, it is a sequel set two years after the game, except for the opening sequence with Red XIII which takes place 500 years after the game

Did this movie have a budget of 100 million?

No, despite rumours of this being the case.
