Trivia
The dialogue spoken by the Monster in the film was edited out before the film's release. His dialogue in the film spoke of his desire to control the world but Universal executives feared that World War II audiences would find it too close to Adolf Hitler's own rhetoric.

Evelyn Ankers who played Elsa Frankenstein in The Ghost of Frankenstein (1942) does not reprise her role in this film. It was decided that Lawrence shouldn't have two love interests played by the same actress so Ilona Massey was cast. This is not the first time in a Frankenstein film that the female lead was re-cast from an earlier film. Mae Clarke played Elizabeth in Frankenstein (1931) while Valerie Hobson took over the role for The Bride of Frankenstein (1935)

The matte painting of the town of "Vasaria" is lifted from Universal's My Little Chickadee (1940).

In the long shot of Frankenstein's monster carrying Elsa up the stairs, her long flowing gown hangs down to his feet; to avoid stepping on it, he clearly has to take wide strides up the steps. Then there is a cut to the monster as he reaches the top of the stairs, and here Elsa's gown is completely wrapped around her body.

Q
Does Larry get Frankenstein's notes?
A
Eventually, yes. He tries to sweet talk Elsa into giving them to him, but she claims not to have them. When the villagers threaten to kill her, Maleva, and Dr Mannering (Patric Knowles), she finally reveals their hiding place in the laboratory that was destroyed in The Ghost of Frankenstein. Dr Mannering reads the notes and thinks that he might be able to restore the laboratory and use the notes to help both Larry and the Frankenstein monster.
Q
Why does Larry want to see the notes of Henry Frankenstein?
A
Talbot wants to die. Maleva tells him that Frankenstein's notes may hold the secrets to life, death, and immortality, so Larry wants to get his hands on them.
Q
How does the Frankenstein monster get revived?
A
After the Vasarian villagers shoot Larry Talbot, he tries to hide in an alcove of the burnt-out Frankenstein sanitarium. He falls through the floor into an ice cave where he finds the monster (Bela Lugosi) frozen behind a sheet of ice. He breaks the ice and sets the monster free.
