Trivia
Niles' wife Maris is never seen (at least her face) or heard from in the entire series. The same thing is mentioned about Vera, the wife of Norm Petersen in Cheers (1982). We only hear of Maris from Niles about what is wrong about her. This method is used again when Martin meets the girl he has been watching from across the street via his telescope.

In the pilot episode, Frasier and Martin have a fight over Frasier just wanting to hear "thank you" from Martin for allowing him to move in. Before John Mahoney (Martin) hugs Kelsey Grammer goodbye in the finale, his line is "Thank you, Frasier."

Frasier attended Harvard and Oxford, while Niles attended Yale and Cambridge.

Goofs
In the "Frasier Crane day" episode, Daphne phones the INS and bothers the Mayor of Seattle about her passport, which would be a job for the nearest British consulate.

Frasier flashes back to his first day on the air three years earlier. At that point, he had longer, curlier hair in the first season. Yet in the flashback his hair was its current short length.

In "The High Crane Drifter" it's revealed that the apartment above Frasier's is a penthouse occupied by "Freddie Chainsaw," but in season nine the same residence is occupied by Cam Winston and the apartment is virtually identical to Frasier's and not a penthouse.

Q
I never watched "Cheers". What was Frasier like on it?
A
Soon after his first appearance on Cheers, Frasier is revealed to be dating barmaid Diane Chambers, whom he treated for severe depression after she broke up with Sam Malone. They got engaged, but Diane left him at the altar in Italy. Frasier still continued to come to Cheers, and eventually married Dr. Lilith Sternin, a fellow psychiatrist. After she cheated on him, he threatened to commit suicide, but eventually decided not to after thinking of his son Frederick. Lilith went to live in an ecopod with a fellow research scientist, but then she came back. She and Frasier briefly reconciled and they did not divorce during the Cheers timeline. They divorced between the time the Cheers timeline ended and the Frasier timeline began.Niles was not mentioned in Cheers, and also Frasier claimed that his father was a scientist, and dead (Cheers: Two Girls for Every Boyd (#8.9)). This is explained in Frasier as Frasier claims that this was due to bad blood between himself and his father. (1995 Episode: "The Show Where Sam Shows Up")
Q
Do Niles and Daphne ever get together?
A
Yes, in the last episode of Season 7, Frasier: Something Borrowed, Someone Blue: Part 2 (#7.24).
Q
Is John Mahoney disabled in real life?
A
No. The cane was just a prop. This is shown in Frasier: The Return of Martin Crane (#9.4), which features a flashback from before he got injured, and a dream sequence in the final season where he performs a song and dance number unaided.
