Amitabh Bachchan only agreed to be part of this project due to his very long association with his makeup artist, Deepak Sawant who produced the film.

Producer Deepak Sawant had initially approached 'Bhumika Chawla' for the lead role, as she was unable to provide any shooting dates, Nagma was signed.
