It was this film in which Gus Van Sant started making long shots because of his love for Béla Tarr's films.

Chosen by "Les Cahiers du cinéma" (France) as one of the 10 best pictures of 2002 (#10, with the TV-show 24 (2001)).

This film runs for about 100 minutes, and features exactly 100 shots, resulting in an average shot length of about 60 seconds.

At the end of the movie when Gerry is lying on his back, his legs change from flat to bent and back again. This obviously could not possibly happen due to his condition.
