While on the outskirts of Vegas a news truck enters the chase. In forward shots there is only the newswoman driving it, from behind she has a male passenger inside with her.

When Colin Hedgeworth steals the Dodge Charger (with white seats) he mistakenly backs into the showroom. The inside shot of the shift console shows a blue vinyl console, obviously very old and dirty, with black seats. There is, additionally, some graffiti "smudged" onto the console. This is clearly a shot of a different vehicle than the nice, "like new" Charger represented.

Q
Does this movie have any connection to the video game series?
A
No, the games aren't based on the movie. They just have the same title, being that grand theft auto is a common term for car theft. But in the game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, there is a small reference to this movie.
