The first episode is filmed in the same set as Growing Pains (1985). In the beginning of the episode, Mark Curry meets Alan Thicke in the set and they make some jokes about the Growing Pains (1985).

The series finale was preempted, halfway through, on the west coast, as ABC News was breaking the story of Princess Diana's fatal car accident in Paris. There were a few complaints from viewers, but nothing of significant note as the show aired on a Saturday Night, and was one of the lowest rated programs on ABC at the time. The show aired in full in syndication.

The show's original theme song was performed by stars Holly Robinson Peete and Dawnn Lewis, and EnVogue.
