The inscriptions on the Riddle's family tombstone had to be digitally changed at the last minute after fans of the books, having seen promotion stills released from the graveyard scene, pointed out that none of the Riddle names on the tombstone referred to Voldemort (a.k.a. Tom Marvolo Riddle), as the filmmakers erroneously thought, but to his dad, Tom Riddle (Sr.), his grandfather, Thomas Riddle, and his grandmother, Mary Riddle.

The underwater scenes were shot in a huge purpose-built tank with a blue-screen background. Safety divers swam in between takes with scuba regulators to allow the actors to breathe without having to surface. Daniel Radcliffe alone logged around 41 hours 38 minutes underwater during the course of filming. At one point during training he inadvertently signaled that he was drowning, sending the crew into a huge panic to bring him back up to surface.

When Moody chases Malfoy around the tree after he is transformed back from a ferret, he sticks his walking stick in the ground and it is tilted. In the next shot, you can see the stick in the background and it is perfectly erect.

When "Mad-Eye" Moody tells Finnegan to not put gum under the desk, he chucks the chalk at him but it bounces off the table behind him and into the girl sitting there before cutting away, suggesting the chalk was rubber.

In the scene during which Headmaster Dumbledore is announcing the arrival of the Beauxbatons and Durmstrang academies, Filch is seen running towards Dumbledore to warn him of the arrivals. In one scene it shows that Filch has run at least 20 feet past Ron and Harry. In the next scene the camera pulls to a closer shot in which it shows Harry and Ron are startled to see Filch *just* run past.

Why did Voldemort need Harry's blood?
Voldemort and his followers rigged the Triwizard Tournament in order to get access to Harry Potter's blood so that Voldemort could manifest in a corporeal body. Bone of the father unwillingly given / Flesh of the servant willingly sacrificed / And blood of the enemy forcibly taken. In the novel, Voldemort acknowledges that the blood of any enemy would do, but Harry Potter's blood would confer upon Voldemort the powerful protection granted by Harry's mother. Voldemort shows this by touching Harry on the forehead without suffering; in Philosopher's Stone, touching Harry caused Voldemort great pain.
What is 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' about?
Now 14 years old and in his fourth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) is forced to compete in the Triwizard Tournament when his name is drawn from the Goblet of Fire. Since Harry did not request that his name be added to the contestants, the question now becomes: who did?
What lessons are shown in this film?
