Trivia
The film features several references and tributes to Stieg Larsson's Millenium trilogy. Diana watches the second film from the trilogy, The Girl Who Played with Fire (2009), on TV the night Roger comes home late. Also, aerial shots from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009) were used to fill in some missing scenes. One of the clips features a car driving over a bridge. The car from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009) was digitally replaced with the car Roger Brown drives in this film.

Upon its release, the film has been sold to over 50 countries - a record for any Norwegian film.

Casting for the twin police officers Monsen proved particularly difficult because the twins had to weigh over 220lbs and be identical. Lars Skramstad Johnsen and Gunnar Skramstad Johnsen fit the bill.

Goofs
After Roger Brown has pulled Ove from the lake and they both are in the car, driving to Ove's place, Ove is still dizzy and disoriented and keeps falling on Roger's shoulder. At one point, Roger pushes him away, Ove pukes a little, and then you see a hand pat Ove on the shoulder. That hand came from back seat, and doesn't belong to either Roger or Ove.

When Roger Brown returns to Oslo after the car crash he is seen calling from a pay phone in Grønland Bussterminal, in the next shot he is seen walking over a bridge towards the bus station.

The license plate of Clas Greve's car is a Dutch diplomatic plate. The letters "CD" (for Corps Diplomatique) on it are issued exclusively for that purpose. But he is not a diplomat and no diplomat may lend him such car.
