Trivia
As anyone would expect, this movie contains numerous spoilers for Psycho (1960).

Real-life murderer Ed Gein inspired the character Norman Bates in the original Robert Bloch novel 'Psycho'; Gein also inspired the character of Jame Gumb (Buffalo Bill) in Thomas Harris's novel The Silence of the Lambs (1991) which featured Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Lecter in the film version. Michael Wincott, who plays Gein in this movie, also played a similar killer in the James Patterson-inspired thriller Along Came a Spider (2001).

Among actors considered/auditioned to play Anthony Perkins were Ben Barnes, Jack Huston, Jackson Rathbone, Tom Felton, Ryan Merriman and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Goofs
Vera Miles is portrayed behind the scenes of filming Psycho as having a full head of hair, when in reality she'd had her head shaved for her role in 5 Branded Women.

When Hitch is in the meeting with the censors, the stenographer is clearly faking the keystrokes.

When Alma and Whit are driving up the Pacific Coast Highway, the double centerline is yellow. In 1960, it would have been white.

Q
Isn't 'Psycho' a Universal movie?
A
Yes and no. The movie was filmed on the Universal backlot. The house and motel can still be seen on the Backlot Tour, but Paramount originally released the film as shown here. Universal released it later and went on to make two sequels, a prequel, a remake, and a television movie spin-off.
Q
Is there a scene after the credits?
A
Yes. Hitchcock stands on a theater stage, a bright light behind him showing his famous silhouette, and walks off.
