The production initially wanted Vilma Santos to play Edades' mother. She, however, turned down the offer saying that it was only a supporting role.

Director Gil Portes wanted Carlo Muñoz to play the boyfriend of Edades. Portes even asked entertainment editor Ricky Lo to talk with Munoz' management at ABS-CBN for their talent to be tapped in the movie. ABS-CBN refused saying there is a conflict in the schedule. Finding it hard to talk with ABS, Portes hired James Blanco, a talent of the rival GMA Network.
