Writers Harry and Michael Medved worked as consultants on this film, which was inspired by their books, "The Golden Turkey Awards" and "The Fifty Worst Films of All Time". The brothers were so incensed by their treatment by the film's producers (and the end result) that they devoted a small entry to it in their subsequent book, "The Hollywood Hall Of Shame".
