Some of the very early episodes were in fact an early flirtation with High Definition television. In order to disguise the fact (to some export markets) that they were cheaply and quickly made television multi camera productions, the producers tried out some new Pye make cameras that were capable of between 700 and 1000 line resolution and then transferring the result to 35mm movie film, to give it 'the film look '. By 1956 company politics and cost considerations had killed both the idea and the cameras off.
