Trivia
Although not used in the theatrical release, Julie Andrews recorded "The Giants Fable" for the opening sequence for the film. This voice over can be found in the deleted scenes on the Blu-Ray special features.
At the start of the final battle, Giant King Fallon addresses his four generals by name: Fee, Fye, Fo, and Fum. These names together are the first line of the giant's singsong chant in the traditional Jack story.
Near the end when the two headed giant swallows the bean and is torn apart; his hand lands next to Jack. The crown on two fingers of the giant, is bigger than Jack's waist, let alone his head.
Shortly after sending the giant over the edge with bees, in the woods behind Elmont (Ewan McGregor) is visible a fast-moving dust cloud from moving vehicles, just as if a dirt road existed there and vehicles were traveling on it.
When the king begins chopping the beanstalk with his sword, he is cutting nearly straight down from overhead on a horizontal root, but immediately afterward from a different angle he is cutting with a sideways swing at the vertical stalk.
What are the differences between the censored European Version and the Uncensored Theatrical Version?
A
In some European countries like Germany and Sweden a slightly censored version was not only shown in cinemas but also released on DVD/Blu-ray. Approximately 13 seconds have been removed in three scenes. A detailed comparison between both versions with pictures can be found here.
