'Cathy Rogers (I)' got the idea for the show (i.e. having people build something useful out of junk) after watching Apollo 13 (1995).

Dick Strawbridge, contestant in Series 1 and 2 replaced Robert Llewellyn and Lisa Rogers, as the presenter in Series 11.
