Count Thibault and André attack a red SUV, saying, "Look! A red dragon!" In the original French 1993 version, they demolish a yellow postal van but first scare off its black driver, saying, "Look! A Moor!" The scene was fiddled for "racial sensitivity".
When Julia and Thibault visit the diner, the barman and the couple on the left resemble the people in the diner in Edward Hopper's painting "Nighthawks."
Just before Thibault shows Julia how to weild a sword, Julia has a handbag in her left hand when Thibault unsheaths his sword. In the next shot, it's gone.
