Popularized the term "Muffin Top" in Australia in mid-2003. It has since spread into other English speaking countries.

Glenn Butcher has been in every season. In Season one he played the barman at the nightclub who serve drug laced cocktails to Kath, Kim and Sharon. Season Two had Glen play a waiter at a restaurant the Kath was waiting for her friends at. Season Three Glen played a judge for the Melbourne Commonwealth Games Voulenteers. During the movie Da Kath & Kim Code (2005), Glen plays a car rental sales man.

Prior to the series moving to Channel 7, most location shots were done in Melbourne's bayside suburbs closer to the ABC studios in Ripponlea (Southland Shopping Centre, Moorabbin Ikea (since closed), Nepean Hwy Moorabbin, Aspendale Gardens (the overhead shot in the credits) etc) however after the move the first location used was Newmarket Plaza in Flemington, much closer to Channel 7's Docklands studios.

Kim: I'm not criticizing you, I'm just saying you look bad.

Kath: [thinking Kim is gay] Kim I want you to know, I know that you've thrown your handbag in the river and I'm okay with that...

Kim: My marriage is over. O-V-A-H. Over.
