Trivia
This was the third of three "Little House" telemovie sequels, and the last story to be filmed, but not the last to be broadcast (it debuted during February 1984, while the film made before it, _Little House: Bless All the Dear Children (1983) (TV)_, aired seven months later, in December of that same year).

Even though there was a court order to remove the citizens of Walnut Grove, the U.S. army could not enforce it. Minnesota was a state, which meant the Army would have illegally been used for law enforcement duties. County deputies or state police should have been sent in to enforce the court order.
