Trivia
Max's shotgun differs in this movie from the one he used in Mad Max (1979) and Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981), which was his duty weapon. This one has exposed hammers and a different grip.

Aunty Entity's (Tina Turner) steel mail dress weighed more than 55 kilograms (121 pounds).

Max's name is only spoken once in the movie. Just after he meets Master Blaster in underworld. Master says "Me Master" and introduces himself, then Max says "Me Max" and does the same.

Goofs
Ironbar fires an arrow through the train/truck's door and through Pig Killer's leg. The arrow has a huge four-bladed broadhead on it, yet the hole in the door and the hole in Pig Killer's leg are only the size of the arrow's shaft.

When Max "parks" his weapons, we hear the sound of 15 separate items (counting the shotgun shells as one item) hitting the counter, yet when he's finished, there are only about 7 items in the pile. Also, he puts his shotgun down second, on the right side of the counter. It immediately disappears for several shots and then reappears on the left side.

A boom mic dips down to catch the Collector saying, "Leave your weapons here; it's the law," casting a very visible shadow on the far left of the frame (over the sign saying "PARK YOUR WEAPONS HERE").

Max: So, what's the plan?

Aunty Entity: Do you know who I was? Nobody. Except on the day after, I was still alive. This nobody had a chance to be somebody.

Q
Is this the last Mad Max film?
A
Yes - and no. British actor Tom Hardy (Star Trek: Nemesis, The Dark Knight Rises) will succeed Mel Gibson in the iconic role for "Mad Max: Fury Road", which will be a reboot and not a direct sequel or continuation of Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome. The film will be released in 2015.
Q
What happens to Max at the end?
A
Ultimately left up to the viewer to decide but the sight of him walking over the dunes with the spears suggests he returned to live out his life with the Feral Kids as their protector and guide, finally finding a new family and home after all these years.
Q
What prompts Max to help the kids after years of being a "shell of a man"?
A
Max regained his humanity by realising that the kids needed his help and were helpless in the twisted world they knew nothing of. In the script (and the novel) is a scene cut from the finished movie where Max falls asleep in Crack in the Earth and wakes up after having dreamt of his wife, son and partner Goose. He starts crying, realising that he has become "the same kind of human animal he had always despised, no better than those who had destroyed the ones he loved".
