Up to 100 Hungarian animators needed more than five years to complete the animation sequences for all 52 episodes.

Director Ulrich König spoke the part of Pumuckl during filming to help Gustl Bayrhammer in his performance.

The joiner's workshop was supposed to be demolished in the mid-80s. Only by the intervention of Bavarian prime minister Franz Josef Strauß it could be saved for the second season.
