Trivia
A number of cop comedies of this period such as Police Academy (1984) and Night Patrol (1984) were named after the institution or unit they spoofed. If this had been the case with this movie, it would have likely been titled "Traffic School". The phrase instead formed part of many of the movie's blurbs in English language releases, whilst "Traffic School" was actually the film's title in West Germany.

James Keach's cop character of Deputy Halik somewhat spoofed his brother Stacy Keach's characterization of cop Roy Fehler in Joseph Wambaugh's The New Centurions (1972).
