Trivia
No-nonsense Chicago PD detective Truman Gates (Patrick Swayze) is a particularly well-heeled policeman carrying both a nickel plated Beretta 92F 9mm automatic in a shoulder holster and a snub nosed Smith and Wesson model 19 .357 magnum revolver on his right hip. Presumably, the revolver is his backup weapon as he uses the Beretta almost exclusively.

The tune that Truman plays on his wife's violin is "Orange Blossom Special", made famous by Roy Clark.

Goofs
None of the semi-automatic and full-automatic firearms used in the film eject empty shell casings while they are being fired.

When Truman enters his house after getting a terrified call from his wife, he racks the slide back on his semi-automatic pistol to cock the hammer. But in the next view a couple seconds later, the hammer is no longer cocked.

Near the beginning of the film, when Gerald and his pal are driving their van, it is obvious in some of the frontal views that there is no glass in the vehicle's windshield.

Quotes
Lawrence Isabella: I've heard a lot about you.

Joey Rosselini: Find him, take care of him. I don't care if you have to go through every flophouse in Uptown!
Briar Gates: I found out more in two hours than you did in two weeks. I know who killed Gerald.
