Trivia
The film features veteran actors Etsushi Toyokawa and Kyusaku Shimada together for the first time. They are the only two Japanese actors to have portrayed the popular literary villain Yasunori Kato in film. Shimada pioneered the role in Akio Jissoji's TOKYO: THE LAST MEGALOPOLIS (1988) and Toyokawa assumed it in Takaashi Miike's THE GREAT YOKAI WAR (2005).

Ian Ziering's character, Victor Serlano, is a skinhead neo-Nazi whose body tattoo patterns are almost identical to those worn by co-star Russell Crowe when he played a skinhead neo-Nazi called Hando in the Australian movie, Romper Stomper.

The gun smuggled on board the airliner by Mr. Contingency is the same non-metallic weapon used by Booth, the would-be presidential assassin in the Clint Eastwood movie, In the Line of Fire (1993).

Goofs
In the scene with the grenade, the bad guy initially picks up and holds a comparatively newer M26/M61 model grenade. In remaining shots of the same sequence, it suddenly becomes a WWII vintage MK2 "pineapple". (Spoiler here) Also, as Saiko is falling, palms open, her hands are clearly empty. Once she's lying down, she opens her hand and lets go of the grenade.
