Goofs
When the two women are spying on the classroom from behind the glass partition, it's not exactly clear who they are or what they say that prompts Carl to flee the school with Ritchie. One of the women is Tip's mother, who earlier witnessed the boys throwing Tip into the water and Ritchie flashing a gun. She has now come to the school to identify them. The other woman with her is the school's principal, who was seen earlier in the film. Again, many viewers don't immediately pick up on this, due to not recognizing the mother (her face is not seen for too long in either scene) nor being able to hear enough of the brief and muffled conversation to make sense of it. The principal asks her if Tip had mentioned any other names, and Tip's mother says that Tip had mentioned another boy, Claude Zachary.

When Cory shows up at the unfinished house to meet Carl after Richie dies, as she opens the sliding glass doors, it is late in the day, but still a lot of sunlight. The very next shot is of Carl's face, with Cory entering through the sliding glass doors in the background, and it is pitch black outside.

In one scene you can see Matt Dillon (Richie) smashing a car window with a baseball bat after his character died at least 20 minutes earlier in the film.
