Despite all the exotic destinations featured on the show, principal shooting is done on a back lot in Brooklyn, and other shots are done around New York City. (For example, London hotel scenes are shot in a mansion on Long Island, and some scenes in Italy have been shot in Manhattan.)

Due to her being shorter than the real life 5'4" height requirement that the actual Pan Am stewardesses had to be in that era, Christina Ricci was forced to wear high heels while her co-stars wore shorter "kitten" heeled shoes.

The Pan Am logo that is used in the intro is the wrong one for the time period of the show. Up until 1971 the letters in "Pan Am" did not touch each other. In 1971 they changed to a globe with no letters in it (The words "Pan Am" were next to it). In 1973 they went back to the original globe logo with Pan Am in it, but with the letters touching.

For the entire series, they refer to the head of Pan Am as "Juan Trippe." Juan Terry Trippe was named after a maiden aunt named Juanita Terry, and he positively loathed the name Juan. Everyone called him Terry, Terry Trippe, or simply Mr. Trippe, under fear of being fired, killed, or worse.
