'Om Prakash' predicted Amitabh Bachchan's rise to fame. "On the first day of shooting, after Amitabh turn to speak, Om forgot his lines. When asked what the matter was, he said: 'Where did this great artist come from?' and the shooting was canceled.

This is the first movie in which future superstar Amitabh Bachchan played a villain. He did not play another until 31 years later in Aankhen (2002).

Amitabh Bachchan was living with Editor Neerja Shah and her family, he would practice all his lines at their home for the film. Amitabh would get Neerja Shah and her sisters for role play for his lines and get them ready for the lines of the scene, they would all end up giggling away, as acting wasn't acceptable in the norm society.
