Trivia
During his monologue to the Pirate Brethren Court, Jack Sparrow employs a combination of two Latin phrases used in Law: "Res ipsa loquitur", literally meaning "The thing speaks for itself", which is used when the circumstances are so obvious as to need no further evidence or explanation; "Tabula in naufragio", literally meaning "A plank in a shipwreck", relates to priorities in loans and mortgages provided by separate loaners.

When the screen goes black as the crew fall over World's End, the ghostly music and voices heard are directly from the Disneyland ride. Most noticeable is Paul Frees' voice of the skull and crossbones that infamously warns passengers "Dead men tell no tales!"

This is the fourth pirate movie Hans Zimmer has scored. In addition to the three Pirates of the Caribbean films, he also scored Muppet Treasure Island (1996).

Goofs
When Sao Feng is killed, Elizabeth's "hat" flies off. Her hair changes positions, from a lot of hair - almost all of it down - to a few small locks of it down. It continues to change in the next few scenes where the crew claims her captain and she is talking to Norrington.

When Captain Jack Sparrow is on the Black Pearl in Davy Jones' Locker, his right hand has several large scratches. But a few minutes later when Barbossa leads the crew to Jack's rescue, those scratches are gone.

Right after the battle aboard the Dutchman, we see Jack and Elizabeth leaving with a made-up "parasail" and they land straight to the sea. In the next scene, we see them boarding the Pearl, and they should be soaking wet since they are just coming out of water, yet no water is visibly dripping off of them. Elizabeth is a little wet from the rain but Jack is remarkably dry.

Q
What happened to the Kraken?
A
Beckett made Jones kill the Kraken. He describes his order as having had Jones kill his "pet." You can see its corpse later on the beach. How Jones killed the beast is unknown.
Q
Is this movie based on a book?
A
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is based on a screenplay by writers Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio, who based their screenplay on the "Pirates of the Caribbean" ride at the Disneyland theme park. It is the third movie in a series of four Pirates of the Caribbean movies, preceded by Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003) and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006), and followed by Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011). Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is in production, scheduled to be released in 2017, and Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is in development with no release date set.
Q
Why does Calypso explode into crabs?
A
Calypso is a goddess associated with crabs and the sea (at least in the movie's mythology). It's a grand exit showing off her power, just like the crabs brought Jack and the Pearl to Tia Dalma on the shore in the Locker. A hint is given to this relationship when one of the crabs slips under Tia Dalma's gown and she is subsequently shown holding one, stroking it tenderly.
