AAfter a week of living days of her life out of order, Linda wakes up on Wednesday and (after realising today is the day her husband, Jim, dies) quickly drives to Mile 220, hoping to save him. It turns out that Jim wasn't going on a buisness trip (as he said he was), but rather to a hotel to meet up with his mistress (a fellow co-worker). However, he has a change of heart and calls her to tell her that he "can't do this". He then gets a call from Linda (who is now driving up behind him). She tells him to turn the car around. He does so (narrowly missing another car) and his car stalls in the middle of the road. Then, Linda spots a gas truck coming up behind Jim's car. She begins running towards Jim's car as she frantically screams at him to get out of it. Instead, he sits there and tries to start the engine up again, but to no avail. He then tries the car door, but it's locked. Before he can unlock it, the truck slams into his car (instantly killing him) and slides down the highway until it comes to a stop next to the Mile 220 sign. Then, it blows up in front of a horrified Linda (who is now in tears). The very end of the film reveals that Linda and her two daughters are moving house and that Linda is pregnant. An alternate ending (available on the DVD) shows Linda seeing someone (presumably Jim) in the shower. Then, the screen goes black.
