Trivia
Since Prince Valiant's storyline in the comics was so sprawling and complex, the property is said to have languished at MGM where no one could get a handle on it. When MGM eventually passed, Fox picked it up. There, Oscar-winning screenwriter, Dudley Nichols, devised a script by selecting panels from the comic strip to create a much more concise storyboard from which to work.

Goofs
The Black Knight has his shield on the right arm when first seen. In the next shot it is on his left, in the next back on his right arm.

As Valiant leaves his castle to meet Boltar at the beginning of the movie, he jumps from several heights to the ground. As Valiant jumps off of a small hill next to the castle, you can clearly see mats falling down from the hill after he jumps.

As Prince Valiant leaves the Abbey and his Parents to go to Camelot. He departs, standing upright in a simple "serving tray" shaped boat. As he shakily pushes off from the shore you can clearly see a pontoon like arrangement hidden under the craft, obviously designed to try to steady it. In later shots, pulled up on shore, it is flat bottomed.

Quotes
Sir Gawain: You turned out to be flinging rocks like any lowborn ruffian. Why I've never been unhorsed by such a scurvy trick!

Sir Gawain: You were a young fool. But I was an old fool, which is worse.

Sir Gawain: Stop interrupting and I'll tell you what happened. After you left I went out after you. That's when I came upon the Black Knight.
