This is the first film of Dhanush in Hindi. For this film , he took special Hindi coaching classes.

Earlier , actor Shahid Kapoor was roped in to play the lead role , but later Dhanush replaced his role.

When Kundan exposes the real identity of Jasjeet Singh at the wedding ceremony by showing the Newspaper article; he says that the guy is Hindu. But later on in the scene where Jasjeet'a family is taking him home, all the family members are wearing religious Sikh turbines, also the name Jasjeet Singh clearly depicts that he is Sikh not Hindu.

When Kundan stops Zoya's rickshaw near her house and tells her that her parents are getting her married, Zoya's black Bra strip is visible and when she walks inside her home to talk to her mother the bra strip is of some other color.

When Kundan and Murari return from hospital to Kundan's wedding, they are on a 'Piaggio' scooter belonging to Murari. But in the previous traveling scene, both were on a 'Bajaj' scooter belonging to Kundan.
