Nicolas Cage is a huge fan of Neon Flesh (2010), Paco Cabezas' second movie and the one who caught the attention of Hollywood. According to Cabezas, Cage specially loved the performance of Macarena Gómez, and even tried to have her on Tokarev for a role, but Gómez's schedule didn't allow it.

In the poker room fight, when the stuntman is thrown over a table, the protective padding under his clothes is visible as he bends forward in the fall.

Danny is trapped in his bar as mobsters enter.The shadow of the boom mike is visible just above and to the right of Danny's head as he is calling Paul apprising him of the situation. It's certainly a boom mike as it follows Danny's head movements, then moves up and out of the way as the camera pulls back slightly.

Why did Paul kill one of his best buddies?

A

Near the end of the film, Paul killed his best friend Danny. Years ago they robbed from the Russian mob, and swore never to tell anyone about it, as they killed a guy in the process. When caught later, Danny ratted out and got his sentence reduced. That's why Paul got so angry, and (more or less) inadvertently killed his buddy.

What actually happened to Caitlin Maguire?

A

Her friend Mike accidentally killed her. They (along with their friend Evan) had been drinking, and were playing with guns outside her house. When Caitlin suddenly approached Mike, he turned and accidentally shot her in the head point blank. It was raining heavily, so he was unable to hear her nearing him. The two boys then decided to hide the body and made it look like she was kidnapped, instead of just telling the truth.
