QWhy was there no season 5 in 2008?
ADenis Leary has stated that because of the writer's strike they would have had to make a very short season 5 in the time alotted, probably no more than 6 episodes.The alternate choice was to make an extra-long fifth season (22 episodes). The catch was they would have to wait until 2009 before they could start airing, and the first episode was aired on FX on Wednesday, April 8th, 2009.To help keep people entertained for 2008, the cast and crew created "mini-sodes" (5-8 minute skits) released once a week online.
