Constantine Maroulis plays a record executive in this film. He originated the role of Drew Boley in the Broadway production and was nominated for the 2009 Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical for his performance.
When Drew, love interest of Sherrie, is clocking in at the "Bourbon," the soundtrack plays the first few notes of Steve Perry's 1984 hit single, "Oh, Sherrie."
At the record store, one of the walls has a spread of Iron Maiden's 1986 album "Somewhere in Time" on it. The artwork featured is the artwork from the 1998 CD remaster; the artwork that the album had until then had the band's name and album title displayed much smaller and to the top left corner.
At the end of the scene where Drew's band opens for Stacee Jaxx, you can clearly see that the microphone Drew is using is designed to be used with a cord, yet it has no cord plugged into it.

A
On Blu-ray, an Extended Cut was released, that runs approx. 13 minutes longer than the Theatrical Version. It features some enhanced plot sequences but basically more sexual content. Thus the Extended Cut is rated R whereas the Theatrical Version got the PG-13 rating. A detailed comparison between both versions with pictures can be found here.
