When Shep contacts Zanuck when Zanuck orders Shep to go to Earth and take a 6 week holiday. Shep, on asking Zanuck for another mission and suggesting that he goes on a bug hunt with creatures that bleeds acid was written as an obvious nod to "Alien" which was about a deadly extra terrestrial creature that has acid for blood.
Whilst entertaining the Japanese businessmen, Beltz mentions that Nick Adams was in Rodan. This is untrue. Although the US version of Rodan was dubbed and featured some World War II stock footage at the beginning, there we no new scenes shot using American actors as with Godzilla, and certainly nothing involving Nick Adams.
When Charlie was in his workshop at the very start of the movie, the girl that stands in the doorway is clearly a different girl than the girl that plays Charlie's daughter for the rest of the movie.
Suburban Commando is a 1991 science fiction action comedy from director Burt Kennedy (Hannie Caulder) and stars wrestler Hulk Hogan (Rocky III) and Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future). Hogan stars as Shep Ramsay, a space warrior who is ordered by his superior officer to go to Earth to take a holiday and to lie low and stay under the radar of his arch-enemy General Suitor. Unfamilar with human customs and culture, Shep goes to stay with the hapless Charlie Wilcox (Christopher Lloyd) and his family, whilst his spaceship is recharging. But Charlie discovers Shep's space armor and weapons and equipment, which Charlie switches on, causing General Suitor to trace and track Shep down and Suitor sends two bounty hunters to Earth to deal with him.
