Did you know?
Usually when the two tribes merge into a single new tribe the Survivors live at the better of the two tribe camps. However, on "Survivor: The Australian Outback" and "Survivor: The Amazon", the Survivors were forced to move to an entirely new location and start over from scratch.

"Survivor: The Amazon" was the first "Survivor" season to divide the tribes by gender. After 15 days, the tribes were reshuffled into two mixed-gender tribes.

What happens if a contestant breaks the rules?
All contestants sign a nine-page contract before being subjected into the competition. These rules are not explicitly revealed on television, and they are to be followed by every Survivor contestant, or face expulsion with possible forfeiture of any prize money, and in some cases, incarceration. On occasion, Jeff will shout at a contestant who is close to breaking a rule, and tell them not to do something, such as "No choking".During season 8, Richard Hatch sexually harassed a female contestant during a challenge. Jeff Probst, however, did not notice this, and did not comment on this at the time. The production team didn't interfere with this either. It is unclear what happened to Hatch afterwards.
