Goofs
When Temple's aunt and mother are talking on the phone, in 1966, the hand sets have a RJ11 connector. These type of connectors did not come about until the mid 1970s, and didn't get wider use until the 1980s.

The small rocket that Professor Carlock, the science teacher, launches to celebrate Temple Grandin's success with the "perspective" room is a model of the "Little Joe II" which in 1962 was in the fabrication stage. The details needed would not have been available for modeling. The little Joe II's first test flight wasn't for another year still. Also, the size and configuration of the model rocket and its motor are too advanced for that time period. It wouldn't be until 1970 that a model of that size would be viable.

Temple is shown watching a movie on TV and uses a remote control. This was while she was in grad school, early to mid 1970s. Regular home TV remotes were not available until late 1980s.
