Trivia
George C. Scott refused his award for Best Actor in a Leading Role and did not even show up for the ceremony. Patton (1970) producer Frank McCarthy accepted the award on Scott's behalf but returned it the next day in accordance with the actor's request. Two years later Marlon Brando became the second actor to refuse his award in the same category.
