Carey walks past two railway carriages with the word 'VLine' on them. VLine is the trading name of the State Transport Authority. It was formed in 1983 when the Victorian Railways was split into two organisations. However the film is set in the 1960s and Vline did not exist at this time.
The last scene shows Carey and Wendy on the house roof with the West Gate Bridge in the background. The film is set in the 1960s but construction of the bridge only started in 1968 with the bridge being completed in 1978.
When the Anthony Hopkins character shows his wife the trophy he won at the slot car race, you can clearly see the tape on the rug that marks her spot in the shot.
Wallace:
Uh, excuse me, please, I'm looking for Mr. Ball's office.
[Robert doesn't respond.]
Wallace:
Mr. Ball's office?
[No response. He starts to leave.]
Robert: Now, what would be your most direct route? Tell you what. Down this corridor, then left after your third door.
